New Archival Acquisitions – 2023

En 2023, l’ACJC s’est portée acquéreuse d’un lot de 13 photographies historiques

This year, the iconographic collections have been enriched by the acquisition of 13 new photographs. These images document the lives of Irène and Frédéric Joliot-Curie, from the awarding of the Nobel Prize in 1935 and scenes from their laboratory at the Radium Institute, to the national ceremonies held following their deaths.

Two prints concern Ève Curie: one shows “Lieutenant Ève Curie” in military uniform, reflecting her commitment alongside the Free French Forces during the Liberation; the other was taken at La Guardia Airport (New York), where she arrived to take part in a commemorative ceremony in honor of her parents, Pierre and Marie Curie, in 1948.
