Conference/round table, on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the marriage of Pierre and Marie Curie
The town of Sceaux wished to organize a historical event, a conference/roundtable discussion, to commemorate the 130th anniversary of the marriage of Pierre and Marie Curie, which took place in the town hall’s wedding hall on July 26, 1895. This event complemented the guided tour organized in late July in Sceaux, which attracted around forty people.
Our association was contacted by the town of Sceaux to jointly organize this historical event. The chosen format was a roundtable discussion comprising three presentations of approximately twenty minutes each, followed by a question-and-answer session with the participants.
“Pierre Curie and Marie Sklodowska: A Dream Come True” by Renaud Huynh, Director of Cultural Affairs at the Curie Institute and Director of the Curie Museum from 2008 to 2025
“The Scientific Work of Pierre Curie” by Loïc Barbo, Professor of Physics and Researcher in the History of Science
“Women in the History of Science” by Natalie Pigeard-Micault, Historian and Deputy Director of the Curie Museum
Roundtable Discussion
The event will take place on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 2:30 p.m.
at Sceaux Town Hall, 122 rue Houdan, in the Guldner Room, a short walk from the wedding hall.
You are cordially invited!
