The Curie Joliot-Curie Association received at ZOE

On Tuesday, June 24, as part of the CEA’s 80th anniversary, the Curie Joliot-Curie Association (ACJC), in partnership with the Fontenay-aux-Roses site, organized a visit to the ZOE reactor.

This half-day event, which included conferences, the exhibition “Frédéric and Irène Joliot-Curie: Between Science and Society”, and a visit to ZOE , brought together members of the Curie and Joliot-Curie families, members of the association, and collaborators from the CEA Paris-Saclay center — all linked, in one way or another, by a shared heritage.

Members of the Langevin and Joliot families visited the CEA site in Fontenay-aux-Roses on the occasion of this event.

“Frédéric Joliot-Curie, the CEA, and Zoé” were presented by Mr. Mangeon, Associate Researcher at the Environment City Society Laboratory, and Mr. Ammerich, Senior Consultant in International Radioprotection.

Zoé’s past was illustrated through the film “The Epic of the Zoé Reactor”, and its future through a talk by B. Pigelet (ACJC) on a possible heritage listing of the reactor.

This was followed by a visit to Zoé’s museographic space, guided by the site’s communication unit, as well as the exhibition “Frédéric and Irène Joliot-Curie: Between Science and Society” organized by the ACJC.
