This policy defines and informs you about how the Curie Joliot-Curie Association (ACJC) uses and protects your personal data that we may process and collect during your navigation on the ACJC website. We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time without prior notice. Therefore, we encourage you to review it regularly.

The ACJC may request you to provide certain Personal Data (as defined in section 2 below). By providing this Personal Data, you expressly consent to its processing for the purposes outlined in section 3 below, “Purposes of Processing”. If you refuse to provide this data, you may not be able to access certain information or services offered on the ACJC website.

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation No. 2016/679 adopted by the European Parliament on April 14, 2016 (hereinafter “GDPR”) and the French Data Protection Act No. 78-17 of January 6, 1978, as amended, the ACJC informs you of the following:

Identity of the Data Controller

    The data controller for your Personal Data and its contact details are: Association Curie Joliot-Curie, 11 rue Pierre et Marie Curie, 75248 PARIS CEDEX 05.

    Personal Data Collected

    The Personal Data collected includes:

    • Information from a contact form available on the ACJC website: email address, name, first name.
    • Data collected via cookies (see section 8 and our Cookie Policy).

    Purposes of Processing

    We collect and process your Personal Data for the following purposes:

    • Responding to your contact requests, regardless of their subject.
    • Personalizing content and advertisements, offering social media features, and analyzing our traffic.
    • Managing any potential disputes involving us.

    Processing Activities

    For the purposes indicated in section 3 above, we perform the following processing operations: collection, recording, deletion.

    Retention Period

    Your data is processed by the ACJC and will be immediately deleted from our active database once your request has been processed. The retention period of your data may be longer in the event of a legal risk to protect our interests.

    Recipients

    Your Personal Data may be communicated to the following recipients when such communication is necessary to achieve one of the purposes mentioned in section 3:

    • Third-party application maintenance, software service, and hosting providers ([names of companies]);
    • In case of litigation, to investigators, legal advisors, debt collection agencies, bailiffs, lawyers, notaries, and, where applicable, the parties involved in the dispute.

    Exercising Your Rights

    When the processing of your Personal Data is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

    You have rights of access, rectification, deletion, and portability of your data, as well as rights to limit and oppose the processing of your data. To exercise these rights, you can send your request to contact@curie-joliotcurie.fr. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL).
