Testimonial from a former president of the association

A former president (2008-2023) of the association shares his testimony.

I joined ACJC not only out of admiration for the considerable achievements of these four towering scientists, but because their vision of selfless science, dedicated to advancing knowledge for the benefit of all, seemed to me a banner worthy of being unfurled more than ever. Advocates for borderless science, engaged in the fight to preserve democratic freedoms under threat, and committed to enabling women to access education and scientific professions, they were activists for an education free from dogma from an early age, diverting it from its mission. Their actions resonate today as they did in the past. Moreover, if their discoveries have changed the world, it is not the result of predefined programs, but of their thirst to understand it.

The Association therefore strives to transpose to our time the ethics of science they forged, exemplified by their choice to dedicate their actions to knowledge and society. It is not a mausoleum, but an inspiration for us today to reflect on the meaning of our commitments.
